Temporary Financial Assistance for Young Adults Facing Housing Instability
North Shore Housing Action Group (NSHAG) is a regional consortium of providers, in coordination with the Lynn and North Shore Continua of Care (Coc), focused on ending homelessness.
The North Shore Housing Action Group (N.S.H.A.G) is a assistance program that specifically focuses on 18-24 year old individuals who are experiencing housing instability and/or homelessness in Essex County.
Eligible participants are able to receive temporary financial assistance and case management services. Regularly scheduled workshops and community meetings are held throughout the region.
In partnership with the United Way, agencies and service providers are able to apply for mini-grants to assist in their efforts working with this population.
Temporary financial assistance can help with:
- Rent arrears
- Start-up costs
- Rent stipends
- Utility arrears
- Moving expenses
- Basic furniture
- Transportation expenses
- Childcare expenses
- Education expenses
- And more…
The case management services provide support to Youth and Young Adults with:
- Housing stability
- Employment
- Education
- Financial literacy
- Health/wellbeing
